When to call EMS/911

If there is a danger to you, or the patient:

  • is not easily accessible

  • is unresponsive or an altered mental state

  • is not breathing normally

  • has persistent chest pain or pressure

  • has life-threatening bleeding

  • has a seizure

  • has head, neck, or spinal injuries

  • has an apparent mental crisis
